Research Funding
Tays Research Services manage external research funding both in the hospital district and partly in its specific catchment area.
External research funding includes state research funding, grants or other funding granted by the European Commission, the Academy of Finland, Business Finland, Finnish and foreign foundations and other bodies
Research funding and project preparation
The experts in Research Services offer the researchers of the hospital district advice related to external and complementary research funding during the application, contract, implementation and reporting phases of research projects. We promote the implementation of health science research following the strategy of the Hospital District.
Business-funded research
We offer pharmaceutical companies a smooth start of research as well as management and monitoring during the research. Our services include:
- contract negotiations and budget negotiations for business-financed studies
- the necessary subcontracting agreements and internal authorisations for research carried out in the hospital district;
- the management and monitoring of the research project (financial and business monitoring and invoicing)
- cooperation with the researcher and other research personnel in matters related to the planning and implementation of research
- archiving services if necessary.

Management of external research funding
In research services, external funding is managed by a designated research service expert for each project, who will ensure that the research project is carried out following the budget allocated to it.
