Heart Diseases

At Tays Heart Hospital, we examine and treat patients who have or are suspected to have a heart disease, such as coronary heart disease, atrial fibrillation, heart failure or valvular heart disease based on their symptoms. We are responsible for the study and monitoring of heart diseases as well as catheterisation procedures, pacemaker implantation and heart surgery of adult patients.

The study and treatment of over 16-year-old heart disease patients has been allocated to Tays Heart Hospital; children and adolescents are treated in the units of Tays Central Hospital and Paediatric Heart Outpatient Clinic. The Internal Medicine units of Tays Central Hospital as well as Tays Hatanpää, Tays Sastamala and Tays Valkeakoski Hospitals are also involved in the treatment of over 16-year-old heart disease patients according to separate disease- and patient-specific instructions.

Studies and treatment require a referral by a physician.
