Syöpäseminaarissa puhujana Anniina Färkkilä to 6.10. klo 14−15

Sisä-Suomen syöpäkeskuksen syöpäseminaarissa torstaina 6. lokakuuta puhuu dosentti, kliininen tutkija, naistentautien ja synnytysten erikoislääkäri Anniina Färkkilä Helsingin yliopistosta ja HUSista. 

Seminaari on englanninkielinen ja Färkkilän esityksen otsikkona on Genomic and single-cell spatial profiling for precision oncology in ovarian cancer. Hostina toimii Toni Seppälä.

Seminaari järjestetään Tampereella Kaupin kampuksella Arvo-rakennuksen auditoriossa F115 (Arvo Ylpön katu 34). Lisäksi tilaisuuteen voi osallistua etänä Teamsissa. Liity mukaan tällä linkillä.

Anniina Färkkilä is an associate professor and research group leader at the System Biology Research Program at Helsinki University. She is a specialist in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Helsinki University Hospital and works as a consultant gynecological oncologist at the Women’s Hospital on Meilahti hospital campus, and an Academy of Finland clinical research fellow. During 2017-2019 she was a postdoctoral fellow at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Harvard Medical School, where her work focused on mechanisms of resistance and biomarkers for combination therapies in ovarian cancer. Currently, she is focusing on the treatment of gynecologic cancer patients at Helsinki University Hospital Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and translational research. She coordinates the prospective Oncosys-Ova clinical study.

In 2018, she was awarded the Seth Wichmann award by the Finnish Gynecologic Society, and 2022 awarded with Eero Saksela prize by the Finnish Cancer Institute. Currently, her research focuses on understanding the complexity and cell-cell interactions in the tumor microenvironment using highly multiplexed imaging, advanced bioinformatics, and functional models in ovarian cancer. She is particularly interested in uncovering features that delineate the responses to novel combination- and immunotherapies.
